A Focused Path to Recovery
Providence House offers a clear, structured continuum of care based on the 12-Step model. From a safe, non-medical detox to an immersive residential program and supportive outpatient services, each step is designed to build a strong foundation for lasting sobriety in a gender-specific environment.
Typical Length: 3-7 Days
The first step for many, social detox provides a supervised, medication-free environment to safely manage withdrawal symptoms. This process prepares clients physically and mentally to fully engage in the residential program.
Program Length: 32 Days
The core of the program is a 32-day residential stay where clients live on-site and are immersed in the 12-Step model. The structured daily schedule includes group therapy, individual counseling, and community-building activities.
Program Frequency: 1-3 times per week
As a crucial step-down, IOP (3x/week) and OP (1x/week) provide ongoing therapeutic support while clients transition back to their daily lives, reinforcing the skills and principles learned in the residential program.
Environment & Accommodations
Providence House offers a comfortable and intimate house-like setting designed to promote community and focus. With a small capacity of just 16 beds per location, clients benefit from a close-knit peer group. The program is strictly gender-specific, with a men's facility in Arnegard and a women's facility in Minot, ensuring that all aspects of the treatment experience are tailored to the unique needs of each gender.
Clients reside in a comfortable house, fostering a non-clinical, supportive atmosphere that feels more like a home than an institution.
All rooms are semi-private, with clients sharing a room with a roommate. This arrangement encourages peer support, accountability, and camaraderie.
The men's and women's programs are located in separate cities, ensuring a completely gender-specific environment for client comfort and focus.
Policies & Rules
The facility is not locked. Clients can go outside on the property but are not permitted to leave the grounds without supervision.

Smoking and vaping are permitted in designated outdoor areas. Clients can use these areas during their scheduled free time.

To maintain an immersive and focused therapeutic environment, on-site family visitation is not permitted during the residential stay.
Items such as drugs, alcohol, weapons, personal electronics, and revealing clothing are not allowed to ensure a safe environment.
