What substance use disorder treatment programs do you offer?
We offer a full continuum of care: Medical Detox, Residential Treatment, Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Virtual IOP, a Tactical Recovery Program for veterans, and a Family Recovery Program. Our IOP schedule is Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6 to 9 pm.
How do you treat dual diagnosis / co-occurring disorders?
Yes, we provide integrated care for co-occurring mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, personality disorders, and trauma, alongside substance use treatment, supported by psychiatric services.
What types of therapies are used?
Our approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), components of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), experiential therapies, family programming, motivational interviewing, and unique adventure, animal-assisted, and recreation therapies.
Does this program use the 12-Steps, SMART Recovery, or other models?
We utilize an integrated approach that includes daily 12-Step meetings and 12-Step facilitation. We also incorporate SMART Recovery principles within our IOP groups.
Is the program faith-based?
Our program is not strictly faith-based; it is a clinical program grounded in evidence-based practices. However, we support clients of all spiritual backgrounds and encourage them to incorporate their faith into their recovery journey. We permit Bibles and devotional materials.

What is the living situation like? Can I get my own room?
Clients reside in a comfortable, home-like 17,000 sq ft house on our farm campus. Rooms are semi-private, meaning you will share a room with one other person. Private rooms and bathrooms are not available, as the community living aspect is integral to our therapeutic model.
Is this a closed/locked facility?
No, Twin Lakes operates as an open campus. We foster an environment of trust and personal responsibility, and the facility is not locked.
Can I use my phone/laptop? Is smoking allowed?
Personal electronic devices (cell phones, laptops, iPads, etc.) are not permitted to ensure clients can focus fully on their recovery. Limited and supervised access to a landline phone is provided. Smoking, vaping, and chewing tobacco are allowed in designated outdoor areas only. All products must be new and unopened upon arrival.

Care is provided by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, masters-level licensed therapists, and addiction counselors. Psychiatric services are a key component of our dual diagnosis treatment program.
Who will be in treatment with me?
Our program is co-ed for adults (18+) from various backgrounds who are struggling with addiction. You will be in a community of peers, including some in our specialized track for veterans and first responders. The environment is supportive, and clients primarily have private insurance. The facility has over 50 beds.
What is the family involvement and visitation policy?
Family involvement is crucial. We offer a comprehensive 2-day Family Program, weekend education and support, and weekly family therapy groups. This helps heal relationships and educates loved ones on the disease of addiction. Visitation is structured around this family programming.
What kind of aftercare and follow-up support is available?
We provide robust continuing care planning. Our aftercare includes alumni services, regular support meetings, family follow-up counseling, quarterly events, and clinical check-ins during the first year post-treatment to support long-term recovery.
