A Full Continuum of Holistic Care
Akua Mind Body provides a seamless transition through multiple levels of care, from intensive medical detox to flexible outpatient services. Each program integrates our core "East-meets-West" philosophy, ensuring that clients receive comprehensive, holistic support at every stage of their recovery journey.
Program Length: 5-7 Days
Our detox program provides 24/7 medical supervision in a safe, supportive environment. The clinical team manages withdrawal symptoms, ensuring client comfort and stability, preparing them for the next level of care.
Typical Stay: Approx. 30 Days
Clients live on-site in a structured, therapeutic community. This program includes intensive individual and group therapy, holistic activities, and 24/7 support to build a strong foundation for recovery away from outside triggers.
Schedule: 3-5 Days per week
Our PHP and IOP levels of care provide robust clinical support while allowing clients to live at home or in sober living. These programs help individuals apply recovery skills in their daily lives, with PHP offering more daily structure and IOP providing greater flexibility.
This dedicated program provides culturally competent care tailored to the unique experiences and traumas of first responders. It addresses conditions like PTSD and co-occurring disorders in a confidential and understanding environment, fostering healing among peers.
Environment & Accommodations
Akua Mind Body provides a serene and structured environment conducive to healing. Residential clients live in comfortable, home-like settings within quiet California neighborhoods, rather than a clinical, hospital-like facility. Each house typically accommodates 8-12 clients, fostering a close-knit community and strong peer support. The total program capacity is around 31-50 beds across all locations. While the campus is open, a structured schedule and 24/7 staff presence ensure safety and accountability as clients focus on their recovery.

Family therapy is integral. On-site visits are limited, especially in early treatment, to allow clients to focus on themselves.
While not a locked facility, clients must remain on-site unless on a staff-supervised outing. This structure ensures safety and focus.
