Frequently Asked Questions

Program & Treatment

Why choose us? What makes it different than other addiction treatment centers?

S2L Recovery is uniquely Christ-centered. Unlike traditional programs, our entire model is built on the foundation of biblical truth and discipleship, aiming for heart transformation rather than just behavior modification. We believe true and lasting freedom from addiction is found in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Does this program use the 12-steps, or not use the 12-steps? Smart recovery? Celebrate recovery?

Our program is biblically based and does not follow the 12-Step model. We use scripture and a discipleship approach as the primary tools for recovery, focusing on a direct relationship with God for healing and strength.

What substance use disorder treatment programs do you offer?

We offer a full continuum of inpatient care, starting with medically monitored detox followed by a two-phase residential treatment program. We treat addictions to substances like alcohol, heroin, meth, prescription pills, and cocaine.

How do you treat dual diagnosis?

We treat co-occurring mental health issues through an integrated, faith-based lens. Our clinical team addresses conditions like anxiety and depression by applying biblical principles and counseling alongside medical care, believing that spiritual health is essential to mental well-being.

What types of therapies do you use in your addiction treatment programs?

Our therapeutic approach is centered on Biblical Counseling and Discipleship. This includes individual and group sessions where clients learn to apply scripture to their lives, alongside clinical support from our counseling staff.

Is the program faith-based?

Yes, we are explicitly a Christ-centered and faith-based program. Every aspect of our treatment, from counseling to daily activities, is designed to help men grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

How long has this facility been open?

S2L Recovery was founded and has been serving men since 2006.

Do you treat co-occurring mental disorders?

Yes, we provide dual-diagnosis treatment for co-occurring mental health issues like depression and anxiety, integrating clinical care with our core spiritual framework.

Cost & Admission

What will my costs be for treatment?

Costs are based on the level of care. As an estimate, a week of detox is around $5,600. The 42-day Phase 1 residential program is about $24,400. A combined detox and Phase 1 stay is approximately $30,000. The subsequent Phase 2 program is $12,500. Please call for an exact quote.

Do you accept insurance for substance use disorder treatment?

We are a private, out-of-network provider and do not accept Medicaid. We can, however, work with some PPO insurance plans to help cover a portion of the cost. We recommend calling for a free benefits verification.

Do you provide detoxification services?

Yes, we provide a medically monitored detox program on-site to ensure clients can manage withdrawal symptoms safely and comfortably before beginning the residential phase.

Is Suboxone (MAT) permitted?

Clients currently on Suboxone or other forms of MAT can be admitted, but our medical team will create a plan to safely taper them off the medication. Our program does not support long-term MAT maintenance.

What is the difference between inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment?

Inpatient treatment, which we provide, requires clients to live at our facility 24/7, offering a highly structured and immersive healing environment. Outpatient treatment allows clients to live at home and attend therapy on a part-time basis. Our Christ-centered inpatient model provides a deeper, more transformative experience by integrating faith into every aspect of daily life and recovery.

How long will I be there?

Is this a closed/locked facility?

Is smoking/vaping allowed?

Yes, smoking and vaping are allowed in designated outdoor areas during scheduled breaks throughout the day.

What should I bring with me?

Who else will be in treatment with me at your facility? What is their occupancy?

You will be in treatment with other adult men (18+) who are seeking freedom from addiction through a faith-based approach. Our clientele typically consists of individuals with private insurance or who are self-paying. With a capacity of 26 beds, our community is intimate, fostering strong bonds of brotherhood.

Are family visits allowed?

Yes, family visits are an important part of the healing process and are permitted on Sundays after an initial blackout period. This allows clients to get acclimated to the program first.

What family involvement is included in the treatment process?

Family involvement is encouraged through regular phone calls (after the initial 7 days) and Sunday visitations. We believe that healing family relationships is a vital component of long-term recovery.

What types of support and aftercare are available once treatment ends?

While we do not offer traditional outpatient programs, our primary aftercare support is our Phase 2 extended care program. We also provide robust discharge planning to help clients connect with home churches, support groups, and other resources to maintain their recovery.

Is there any follow-up after discharge?

Yes, we encourage alumni to stay connected with the S2L community. Our staff remains available for support and guidance, and many graduates return to share their stories and encourage current clients.

Are there psychiatrists and psychologists on staff?
