Environment & Accommodations
Harmony Ridge is set on a beautiful 50-acre wooded campus in Walker, WV, offering a rustic and therapeutic environment. Our main facility and client residences are cabin-style, designed to feel more like a retreat than a clinical institution. With a capacity for 70 clients, we maintain a close-knit community atmosphere. While the program is co-ed, client rooms are gender-specific to ensure comfort and safety.

All rooms are semi-private, encouraging clients to build connections and a strong peer support network during their stay.

Policies & Rules
The program is voluntary, but it is a secure campus. Clients are not permitted to leave the property without staff supervision.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) with drugs like Suboxone is permitted, subject to a comprehensive clinical evaluation by our medical team.
Smoking and vaping are permitted in designated outdoor areas only. Clients must adhere to scheduled break times.
Personal cell phones are not allowed and will be locked away. Supervised use may be permitted for essential tasks on a case-by-case basis.
In-person family visits are not permitted. Clients can connect with loved ones via video calls and use facility landlines after the initial 7-day blackout period.
Alcohol, illicit drugs, weapons, outside food/drinks, and inappropriate clothing are strictly prohibited to maintain a safe environment.

Yes, our program is based on a 12-Step model. While participation is encouraged, it is not forced. We offer on-site meetings to support this approach to recovery.

The living quarters are comfortable and rustic, in a cabin-style setting. All rooms are semi-private, meaning you will share a room with a roommate. We do not offer private rooms.

Our medical care is provided by a team of Nurse Practitioners and nurses, under the supervision of a Medical Director. We do not have psychiatrists on staff, but our team is fully equipped to handle medical detox and co-occurring disorders.
You will be in a community of up to 70 adult men and women from diverse backgrounds, including clients with private insurance and those covered by WV Medicaid. This mix creates a rich and supportive peer environment.
We do not permit in-person family visits. However, we encourage family involvement through scheduled video calls, and our therapists will work with you to maintain healthy communication with your loved ones.
While we do not offer our own outpatient or sober living programs, our team provides comprehensive aftercare planning. We will assist you in creating a solid discharge plan and connecting you with appropriate step-down levels of care.
