Frequently Asked Questions

Program & Treatment

Why choose us? What makes it different than other addiction treatment centers?

Country Road stands out for its serene ranch setting, trauma-informed dual-diagnosis approach, and experiential therapies like equine therapy. They emphasize treating clients with dignity and humanity, focusing on healing the root causes of addiction rather than just the symptoms.

What substance use disorder treatment programs do you offer?

They offer a comprehensive 60-day residential treatment program for adults struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. They do not offer detox or outpatient levels of care.

What is the difference between inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment? Walk me through this program.

Residential rehab provides 24/7 live-in care in a structured setting, while outpatient rehab allows you to live at home and attend scheduled treatment sessions part-time. When you enter the program, you’ll arrive at a peaceful rural facility in Tecumseh just outside Oklahoma City, where Country Road Recovery provides residential treatment only — they do not offer outpatient levels of care or medical detox services, so clients must arrive medically stable and ready to engage in therapy. You’ll be assessed by master’s-level clinicians who take a trauma-informed, dual-diagnosis approach, recognizing that addiction often co-occurs with underlying mental health conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, or depression, and your treatment plan is tailored accordingly. The program includes individual therapy, group therapy, and experiential therapies such as equine therapy, meditation, recreation, and other therapeutic activities, while you live onsite in a supportive peer environment. Over the 60-day stay you move through therapeutic stages: arrival and stabilization, deeper clinical work focused on healing root causes and building emotional/behavioral coping skills, and finally discharge planning and aftercare preparation—developing a relapse-prevention plan, identifying sober supports, and connecting with outpatient or continued care options after you leave. The structure is designed to help you rebuild stability internally through therapy and externally through routine, connection, and accountability, laying a strong foundation for long-term recovery.

How do you treat dual diagnosis?

They utilize an integrated, trauma-informed care model, addressing both the substance use disorder and any co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, or PTSD simultaneously through targeted individual and group therapy.

Do you treat co-occurring mental disorders?

Yes, treating co-occurring disorders is a core part of our philosophy. Our dual-diagnosis approach means we address mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, or trauma at the same time as the substance use disorder.

What types of therapies are used in your addiction treatment programs?

The program incorporates a blend of traditional and experiential therapies, including individual and group counseling, family therapy, and specialized modalities like Art Therapy and Equine Therapy to promote holistic healing.

Does this program use the 12-steps, or not use the 12-steps?

Yes, to a degree. The core program is clinically focused, but they introduce clients to 12-Step principles and offer optional Big Book studies and nightly AA/NA meetings.

Is the program faith-based?

No, the program is clinically focused and not rooted in any specific faith, making it welcoming to individuals from all spiritual backgrounds or none at all.

How long has this facility been open?

Country Road Recovery Center was founded and began offering services in 2023.

Media devices like phones and laptops are also not allowed in your possession during treatment and will be locked and stored for the duration of your stay. Additionally, no food, beverages, or snacks of any kind are permitted unless specifically prescribed by a physician, since all meals and snacks are provided onsite. These rules help maintain a safe, substance-free, and recovery-focused environment throughout your residential stay.

Your care is provided by a dedicated and multidisciplinary team of professionals, including licensed counselors, nurses, and highly-trained support staff who are available 24/7.

Who else will be in treatment with me at your facility? What is their occupancy?

The program is co-ed for adults (18+) and has a maximum capacity of 36 clients. You will be in a close-knit community of peers from various backgrounds, all with private insurance and a shared goal of recovery.
