— Jesse L. (Google Review)

"Tallgrass helped me in a huge way. The staff is awesome and they actually care. I’ve been to other treatment centers and this place is by far the best. It’s a very safe place and the groups they have are really beneficial. I still keep in contact with some of the staff as they have became my friends."

Negative reviews are very rare. The few critical comments tend to focus on the program's rigid, no-nonsense structure, which may not be a good fit for everyone. Some mention that the direct, peer-to-peer accountability model can feel harsh to those not fully ready to commit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Program & Treatment

Why choose Tallgrass Recovery? What makes it different?

What substance use disorder treatment programs do you offer?

We offer a 30-day residential recovery program focused on alcohol and drug addiction, and sober living homes for long-term recovery support.

Does this program use the 12-Steps?

Yes, our entire program is founded on the 12-Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. It is a peer-driven, 12-step immersion and mentor program.

What types of therapies are used?

Our program is centered on 12-step facilitation. We focus on working through the steps with a mentor, attending daily AA meetings, and fostering recovery through peer support and community.

How do you treat dual diagnosis / co-occurring disorders?

We are a non-clinical, non-medical facility focused on a 12-step solution. We do not treat co-occurring mental health disorders. Our program is for those whose primary issue is substance use.

Is the program faith-based?

No, our program is not faith-based in a religious sense. It is a 12-step, spiritually-based solution that encourages each individual to find their own spiritual path.

Are there psychiatrists or psychologists on staff?

No, we are a non-medical, peer-driven program. Our staff and mentors are individuals in recovery, not licensed clinicians.

What is the difference between inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment?

Inpatient addiction treatment involves living at a residential facility for a set period, receiving 24/7 care, structured therapy, and medical supervision, which is ideal for severe addictions or those needing intensive support. Outpatient treatment, on the other hand, allows patients to live at home while attending scheduled therapy sessions, counseling, or support groups, making it more flexible but less immersive. Essentially, inpatient provides full-time, controlled care, while outpatient offers part-time treatment that lets patients maintain daily responsibilities.
