Overview
Face It TOGETHER is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the approach to addiction wellness. They provide support through professional office settings and secure virtual platforms. Located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, with virtual services available everywhere, they provide confidential and nonjudgmental peer coaching for adults impacted by addiction, including their loved ones. Their physical offices are safe, welcoming spaces, and virtual coaching makes their services accessible anywhere. Their highly trained peer coaches, who have lived experience with addiction, create individualized wellness plans focused on the present and future. By meeting members where they are—from navigating harm reduction to maintaining long-term sobriety—Face It TOGETHER offers a practical, goal-oriented path to a better life. Frequently Asked Questions
Program & Approach
Why choose us? What makes it different than other addiction treatment centers?
Our approach is unique because you don't have to be sober to attend, it's often free via grants, and loved ones can also receive coaching. We focus on one-on-one peer coaching rather than a clinical treatment model, meeting you wherever you are in your journey.
What is the difference between inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment?
We are neither. Face It TOGETHER provides recovery coaching, which is a non-clinical, supportive service that falls somewhere between therapy and a 12-step sponsor. It is not a form of medical treatment.
What substance use disorder treatment programs do you offer?
We offer non-clinical peer and recovery coaching for individuals impacted by substance use, as well as for their loved ones.
Does this program use the 12-steps, or not use the 12-steps?
No, our coaching is not based on AA or any 12-step work. We are open to many pathways to wellness.
Is the program faith-based?
No, our program is not faith-based and is suitable for individuals from all backgrounds and belief systems.
How do you treat dual diagnosis? Do you treat co-occurring mental disorders?
No, as a non-clinical service, we do not diagnose or treat co-occurring mental health disorders. Our coaches can help connect you to clinical care and community resources if needed.
Is Suboxone (MAT) permitted?
Yes, we support all paths to recovery and wellness, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
Do you provide detoxification services?
No, we are not a medical facility and do not provide detox services.
What types of therapies do you use in your addiction treatment programs?
We provide peer coaching, which is a non-clinical support service. We do not provide therapy like CBT or DBT, but our approach is practical, goal-oriented, and focused on building tools for a better life.
What types of support and aftercare are available once treatment ends?
Coaching is ongoing and not a time-limited program. We can also help connect you with other resources, like therapists or clinical treatment, if your needs change.
Is there any follow-up after discharge?
There is no formal "discharge" as coaching is an ongoing support service. You can engage with your coach for as long as you find it beneficial.
Cost & Admission
What will my costs be for treatment?
Thanks to grants and donors, over 90% of our members receive coaching for free. For those who do not qualify for grants, individual sessions are $100. Multi-session packages are also available at a discount.
Do you accept insurance for substance use disorder treatment?
No, we do not accept insurance or Medicaid. We are a non-profit funded primarily through grants and donations to keep services free or low-cost for our members.
How long has this facility been open?

How long will I be there?
Coaching is flexible and week-by-week. There is no set length of stay; you can continue for as long as you find it helpful.
Is this a closed/locked facility?
N/A. This is not a treatment facility. We provide coaching in an office setting or virtually, so these concepts do not apply.
What is the living situation like? Can I get my own room?
N/A. This is not a residential program, so there are no living quarters, rooms, or bathrooms.
What is the layout of the campus?
Our physical locations are professional office spaces, not campuses.
Can I use my phone or laptop? Is there WiFi?
Yes, there are no restrictions on personal electronics. This is not an inpatient treatment program.
Is smoking/vaping allowed?
Yes. Since this is not a residential facility, we do not have policies restricting smoking or vaping.
What should I bring with me? What should I leave at home?
N/A. As this is not an inpatient or residential program, you do not need to bring anything specific, other than yourself to the coaching session.
Support, Staff & Community
Who provides care here? Who works there?
Care is provided by highly trained peer coaches who are staff members, not volunteers. They have personal lived experience with addiction and complete extensive training, including steps toward national certification.
Are there psychiatrists and psychologists on staff?
No, our coaches are not clinical or as formal as credentialed therapists. We are a non-clinical support service.
Who else will be in treatment with me at your facility? What is their occupancy?
Our coaching is primarily one-on-one, so you will be working directly with your peer coach. You will not be in group sessions or a facility with other clients.
Are family visits allowed?
This is not an inpatient facility, so the concept of visitation does not apply. However, family members and loved ones are strongly encouraged to participate in their own coaching sessions to get support.
What family involvement is included in the treatment process?
We offer dedicated coaching for loved ones. An empowered loved one with the right tools is more likely to motivate positive change in the person at risk.
