While the majority of reviews are positive, a few critical comments mention issues with administrative communication, especially concerning insurance billing and post-discharge follow-up. Some past clients felt the rules could be overly restrictive, and a few noted that their experience was highly dependent on the specific staff members they worked with during their stay.

Frequently Asked Questions

Program & Treatment

Is this a closed/locked facility?

The program is voluntary, and you can leave at any time by requesting an Against Medical Advice (AMA) discharge. However, it operates as a closed campus, meaning you cannot leave the property without staff permission and supervision.

Who else will be in treatment with me at your facility? What is their occupancy?

The program is for co-ed adults (18+) from various backgrounds, typically with private insurance. You will be in a small, intimate community, as the facility has a total of 30 beds. While the program is co-ed, housing is gender-specific.

Does this program use the 12-steps?

Yes, the 12-Steps are an integral part of the program. 12-Step meetings are held on-site during the evenings.

Is the program faith-based?

No, the program is not faith-based. However, it is spiritually inclusive, and a pastor visits the site every week for those who wish to attend an optional service.

Is Suboxone (MAT) permitted?

No, this is not a Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program. You cannot be on maintenance medications like Suboxone during your stay.

How long will I be there?

The typical length of stay for medical detox is 4-7 days. The residential program is typically 28 days long, though the total program length can be up to 45 days based on clinical needs.

Who provides care here? What is the treatment team like?

The treatment team is multidisciplinary. For the detox phase, which is part of a hospital, care is provided by doctors and nurses. For the residential program, the primary provider is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, supported by licensed counselors and therapists.

What types of therapies do you use?

We use a mix of evidence-based and experiential therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Art Therapy, Equine Assisted Therapy, and Trauma/PTSD focused programs. We also incorporate holistic practices like Meditation and Yoga.

How do you treat dual diagnosis?

Yes, we specialize in treating dual diagnosis, which means we address both the substance use disorder and any co-occurring mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, or trauma simultaneously through an integrated treatment plan.

What is the difference between inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment?

Magnolia Ranch Recovery provides inpatient/residential addiction treatment, meaning clients live at the facility full-time for the duration of their detox or residential program. This allows for 24/7 medical supervision, especially important during detox to safely manage withdrawal symptoms, and offers a structured environment with scheduled therapy, group sessions, and activities. Unlike outpatient programs, where clients live at home and attend sessions part-time, inpatient treatment limits exposure to outside triggers and provides continuous support, ensuring a controlled and immersive recovery experience.

What kind of aftercare is available once treatment ends?

Magnolia Ranch provides comprehensive aftercare planning to ensure a smooth transition after discharge. This includes connecting clients with trusted outpatient programs (IOP/PHP), therapists, and sober living environments in their home area to continue their recovery journey.

Do you provide detoxification services?

Yes, we provide a full medical detox program. It is conducted in a wing of a hospital and is overseen by doctors and nurses to ensure the highest level of safety and medical care during withdrawal.

What substance use disorder treatment programs do you offer?

We offer a focused continuum of care that includes Medical Detoxification and Residential Treatment for substance use disorders.

Do you treat co-occurring mental disorders?

Yes, treating co-occurring disorders (dual diagnosis) is a core part of our program. We understand that addiction is often linked to mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, and PTSD, and we treat them concurrently.

Are there psychiatrists and psychologists on staff?

Our medical care for the residential program is led by a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who can manage medications and mental health needs. Our therapy team consists of licensed counselors and therapists.

What is the length of a residential stay for substance use disorders?

The standard length of a residential stay is 28 days. However, the program can extend up to 45 days depending on the individual's clinical needs and progress.

Is there any follow-up after discharge?

Yes, as part of our aftercare planning, our team follows up with former clients to ensure they are connecting with their outpatient providers and have the support they need to maintain their recovery.

How long has this facility been open?

Magnolia Ranch Recovery was founded and has been providing addiction treatment services since 2017.

Why choose us? What makes your center different?

At Magnolia Ranch Recovery, we offer an intensive clinical program with 56 hours of therapy each week, including on weekends. Our small group settings are tailored to residents with similar backgrounds, creating an intimate and safe setting for personal growth. We offer a unique blend of evidence-based therapies and powerful experiential sessions like Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. Cost & Admission

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we are a private facility and work with most major private insurance plans. We are in-network with several providers. Medicaid is accepted for the detox portion only, not for the residential program.

What will my costs be for treatment?

Costs depend on insurance coverage and individual needs. For self-pay clients, the estimated cost is $3,850 for detox and $24,500 for a 28-day residential stay. We recommend calling for a free insurance verification and a precise quote.

Daily Life, Rules & Family

What should I bring with me?

Clients should bring seven days’ worth of seasonally appropriate clothing, avoiding halter tops, low-cut shirts, short shorts, or see-through clothing, as well as any clothing displaying alcohol, drugs, or gang-related material. One pair of tennis shoes and one pair of boots are recommended. All toiletries must be sealed upon arrival; makeup is allowed, but aerosol sprays including perfume will be secured in lockers and may be used as needed. Nail polish and remover will also be secured in lockers and can be used as needed. Alcohol-based hand sanitizer and mouthwash will be destroyed upon intake. Any unsealed toiletries will be searched, placed in a security bag, and stored in client luggage to be returned at discharge—these are not permitted in client lockers or bedrooms. Staff may dispense small amounts of product into a container if necessary, then return the item to the security bag. Sealed toiletries may be kept in the client’s room. Sharps such as razors, tweezers, and scissors may be signed out for use and must be returned when finished. Prescription medications must be in their original bottle with the label, and over-the-counter (OTC) medications must be sealed; unsealed OTC medications, vitamins, and supplements are considered unauthorized and will be secured and returned at discharge. Other permitted items include cigarettes and tobacco products (sealed upon arrival), vaping products or juice (sealed upon arrival), picture frames, a personal pillow, personal blanket, money, credit cards, gift cards, a wristwatch, sunglasses, sunblock, a hat, bug spray, reading and writing materials, and an ID such as a driver’s license or state-issued identification card.

What should I leave at home?

Clients should not bring firearms, knives, or other weapons; alcohol or any drugs other than those prescribed; or any products containing alcohol such as mouthwash or hand sanitizer. Herbal or nutritional supplements and over-the-counter medications are not permitted. Glass items, aerosol items, and any electronics with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth capability—including cell phones and laptops—are prohibited. Cameras or recording devices are not allowed, nor are lighters. Personal snacks, candy, gum, or drinks are not permitted and will be stored and returned at discharge. All unauthorized items will be secured in luggage storage and returned upon discharge.

Is smoking/vaping allowed?

Yes, smoking, vaping, and dip are permitted in designated outdoor areas. All tobacco and vape products must be new and sealed upon arrival.

What is the living situation like?

The facility offers a comfortable, home-like environment on a ranch. There is a separate men's facility and a women's house for living quarters.

Can I get my own room or bathroom?

No, all rooms are shared with a roommate to encourage peer support and community. Bathrooms are also shared.

Can I use my phone or laptop? Is there WiFi?

No, personal cell phones, laptops, and other electronics with Wi-Fi are not allowed. This is to help you focus on your recovery. You will have access to a landline phone to contact family, with more frequent access during detox and more restricted access during the residential phase.

Are family visits allowed?

No, there are no general visitation days. However, family participation is highly encouraged through dedicated family therapy sessions.

What family involvement is included in the treatment process?

Our Family Program is designed to heal the entire family system. We offer weekly family therapy sessions to address communication issues, establish healthy boundaries, and provide education on the disease of addiction. This helps create a strong, supportive home environment for when the client returns.

What is the layout of the campus?

The campus is a spacious, serene ranch. It features separate housing facilities for men and women, common areas for group therapy and meals, and ample outdoor space for activities and our signature equine therapy program.
