"This place has truly become my family. The staff are amazing and the location is gorgeous and serene... As a veteran it’s hard to find a facility that you truly feel comfortable in... 10/10 recommend this amazing facility."
While reviews for Silvermist Poconos are overwhelmingly positive, a few critical comments mention administrative issues, such as disorganization with billing or communication breakdowns after discharge. Some former clients felt certain rules were inconsistently enforced or had negative interactions with specific staff members, indicating the experience can be dependent on the particular team on duty.
Tip: The intimate, small-group setting is a major strength but success relies on a client's willingness to engage with the close-knit community and program structure.

What will my costs be for treatment?
Costs vary based on insurance coverage. For self-pay clients, the estimated cost is $30,000 for a 30-day residential stay and $20,000 for a 30-day PHP program. We recommend calling our admissions team for a free, confidential benefits verification to determine your exact costs.
Do you accept insurance for substance use disorder treatment?
Yes, Silvermist is an in-network provider with many major insurance companies like Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, UPMC, and Tricare. We also accept plans with out-of-network benefits. We do not accept Medicaid.
Do you provide detoxification services?

Treatment Details
Why choose us? What makes it different than other addiction treatment centers?
Silvermist stands out due to its exclusive focus on women in an intimate, 12-bed setting, which allows for truly individualized care. Our combination of evidence-based therapy with unique holistic offerings like equine and salt room therapy, all within a serene Poconos environment, creates a powerful and unique healing experience. Our specialized tracks for veterans and LGBTQIA+ individuals ensure that every woman feels seen, understood, and supported.
What substance use disorder treatment programs do you offer?
We offer Residential Treatment and a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for substance use disorders. We treat addiction to alcohol and a range of drugs including barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamines, opiates, oxycodone, and other prescription drugs. We also offer Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
What is the difference between inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment?
The core distinction between our Inpatient (Residential) Addiction Treatment and a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is the necessity of 24-hour supervision. Our Inpatient program provides the highest level of care, requiring patients to live on-site in a controlled, trigger-free environment with around-the-clock clinical and medical support, making it essential for stabilization, severe addiction, and complex co-occurring disorders. In contrast, our PHP offers the same intensive, full-day schedule of therapy and programming but allows patients to return to a supportive home or sober living environment each evening, making it an excellent transition phase or a starting point for those who are medically stable and do not require 24/7 oversight; while some facilities offer an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) as a less intensive step-down from PHP, please note that our facility does not currently offer an IOP.
How do you treat dual diagnosis? / Do you treat co-occurring mental disorders?
Yes, we specialize in dual diagnosis treatment. We use an integrated treatment model where both the substance use disorder and any co-occurring mental health conditions (like anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, depression, PTSD, etc.) are treated simultaneously by the same clinical team. This ensures comprehensive, cohesive care.
What types of therapies do you use in your addiction treatment programs?
We use a blend of evidence-based and holistic therapies, including: Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Informed Care, Art Therapy, Biosound Healing, Equine Therapy, Meditation, Mindfulness, Nature Therapy, Salt Room Therapy, and Yoga Therapy.
Does this program use the 12-steps, or not use the 12-steps?
The core program is primarily evidence-based, focusing on clinical therapies like CBT and DBT. However, 12-Step meetings and principles are available as an optional component for those who find them beneficial.
Is the program faith-based?
No, the program is not faith-based. It is a clinical program rooted in evidence-based therapeutic practices, welcoming women from all spiritual backgrounds and beliefs.
Is Suboxone (MAT) permitted?
Yes, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is fully supported. Silvermist can initiate MAT for new clients or maintain a client's existing prescription for medications like Suboxone throughout their treatment.
Who provides care here? Are there psychiatrists and psychologists on staff?
Care is provided by a multidisciplinary team. Our clinical team includes an on-staff psychiatrist for psychiatric evaluations and medication management, as well as licensed counselors and therapists who provide individual and group therapy.
What types of support and aftercare are available once treatment ends? Is there any follow-up after discharge?
Yes, comprehensive aftercare planning is a crucial part of our program. We offer a robust plan, including a step-down to our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for continued support. We also have an active Alumni Program that provides ongoing support, connection, and resources to help graduates maintain their recovery long-term.

The typical length of stay for the residential program is 30 days. The PHP program also typically lasts for 30 days. The duration can be adjusted based on individual clinical needs.
What is the living situation like? Can I get my own room?
The living situation is a comfortable, modern, home-like setting. It is a 12-bed house where all clients share a room and bathroom with a roommate, which is intended to foster peer support and connection. Private rooms are not available.
Is this a closed/locked facility?
No, Silvermist Recovery is an open, voluntary facility. It is staffed 24/7, but it is not locked. Clients can enjoy outdoor walks and can choose to leave against medical advice (AMA) at any time.
Can I use my phone or laptop? Is there WiFi?
Yes. After an initial one-week "blackout" period to help you settle in, you will have one hour of "tech time" each day where you can use your personal cell phone or laptop. WiFi is provided.
Is smoking/vaping allowed?
Yes, smoking and vaping are permitted in designated outdoor areas during scheduled breaks.
What should I bring with me?
Bring about a week's worth of comfortable clothing, non-aerosol toiletries, any prescribed medications in their original bottles, your ID and insurance cards, and a journal. You may also bring your cell phone and/or laptop for use during designated tech time.
What should I leave at home?
Please leave valuables, illicit substances, weapons of any kind, revealing clothing, and any outside food or drinks at home to ensure a safe and focused environment for all clients.
Who else will be in treatment with me at your facility? What is their occupancy?
You will be in treatment with other adult women (18+) who are seeking recovery. The clientele typically has private insurance. With a maximum capacity of only 12 clients, the environment is intimate and supportive.
What family involvement is included in the treatment process? Are family visits allowed?
Family involvement is a key part of recovery. We offer family therapy sessions and have designated visitation hours on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM to help rebuild supportive relationships.
What is the layout of the campus?
The campus consists of a single, modern residential house where clients live and receive some services. Therapy sessions and groups may occur within the house or at a nearby clinical building, all set on a serene property with walking trails and natural scenery.
