A Structured Path to Recovery
Oregon Trail Recovery offers a step-by-step journey through recovery, with each program building upon the last. Their 12-Step based model provides a clear framework, from the critical first step of detox to the community integration of outpatient care. The option to combine treatment with housing creates a stable, sober environment essential for early recovery.
Typical Length: 5-10 Days
The detox program provides 24/7 medical supervision from MDs and NPs to ensure clients can safely and comfortably manage withdrawal symptoms, stabilizing them physically before they begin the therapeutic phase of treatment.
Typical Stay: 30-90+ Days
This is the core of the program, combining structured clinical treatment (PHP or IOP) with residence in gender-specific recovery homes. This model immerses clients in a sober, supportive community where they practice recovery skills in a real-world setting with accountability and peer support.
Program Length: Varies by need
For clients who have a stable home environment, standard PHP and IOP offer the same high-quality clinical care without the housing component. These programs are ideal as a step-down from residential care or for individuals needing intensive treatment while maintaining work or family commitments.

Environment & Accommodations
Oregon Trail Recovery provides a community-based living environment across several gender-specific houses. This setup avoids an institutional feel, promoting a sense of home and peer accountability. With 8 beds per house and a total capacity of 32 clients, the program maintains an intimate and supportive atmosphere. Clients are transported from their recovery homes to a central clinical building for daily therapy and group sessions.
Clients live in comfortable, gender-specific recovery houses, fostering a family-like community and real-world sober living skills.
All rooms are shared with roommates. This encourages peer support, accountability, and helps clients build strong sober connections.
While clinical programming is co-ed, all residential housing is separated by gender to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all clients.
Policies & Rules
This is not a locked facility. Clients live in houses with a manager and curfew. After an initial period, they can go out during the day and earn passes.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including Suboxone, is permitted and supported as part of a client's comprehensive treatment plan.
Smoking and vaping are permitted for clients in designated outdoor areas at their recovery homes.
Personal cell phones are prohibited during an initial 1-2 week "blackout" period. After this, phone access may be permitted based on progress.
While regular visits are not held at the facility, clients in PHP/IOP can earn passes to visit with their families and loved ones off-site.
Regular and random drug testing is conducted to ensure the safety of the community and maintain a sober environment for all clients.
Program & Treatment
Learn about the program structure, therapy types, and treatment model.
The facility's mission is to treat clients with "compassion and caring boundaries." They offer more freedom with a housing/PHP model instead of a locked inpatient facility, and they provide practical support like Employment and Education Assistance.
We offer a full continuum of care, including medical detox, residential treatment (PHP with housing or IOP with housing), and standard outpatient programs (PHP or IOP without housing).
Yes, this is a 12-Step based program. You will be required to get a sponsor and actively work the steps as a core part of your treatment.
Our therapies include individual and group therapy, 12-Step meetings, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), family therapy, life skills development, relapse prevention, mandatory sponsorship, a Talking Circle with a Native American Elder, and meditation.
We integrate trauma-informed care and mental wellness practices into our addiction programs to support clients with co-occurring disorders. However, it's important to note that Oregon Trail Recovery is not certified or licensed as a dedicated mental health treatment provider.

No, the program is not faith-based. While the 12-Steps involve a spiritual component ("Higher Power"), it is open to individuals of all beliefs and is not tied to any specific religion.
Detox and residential programs are considered inpatient because you live on-site or in provided housing, beginning with medically supervised detox for stabilization and then moving into structured daily treatment with staff support. PHP with housing and IOP with housing are also technically inpatient-style settings because housing is included and you still live in a recovery environment even though treatment hours vary by level of care. Standard PHP and IOP are outpatient programs where you do not live on-site — you attend programming during the day or part-time and then return home afterward. So the core difference is simple: inpatient means you stay in program-provided housing 24/7 while outpatient means you only come for treatment hours and sleep elsewhere.
Oregon Trail Recovery was founded and has been offering services since 2013.
