What is the living situation like? Can I get my own room?
The living situation feels like a bed and breakfast on a large, private estate. Most rooms are shared with one roommate. Private suites with a private bathroom are available for an additional fee of $10,000.
Is this a closed/locked facility?
No, it is an open campus. Doors are not locked, and clients can move about the 51-acre property when not in scheduled groups. However, clients are not permitted to leave the property.
Can I use my phone/laptop? Is smoking allowed?
Yes, smoking (cigarettes, Zyns, patches) is permitted in designated areas, but vaping is not. Electronics access is phased: it begins with two 10-minute house phone calls per day, and as you progress, you gain weekly cell phone access and 15 minutes of daily computer time.
What should I bring? What should I leave at home?
Bring: ID, insurance cards, one week of comfortable clothing, toiletries (alcohol-free), prescriptions in original bottles, and appropriate footwear.
Leave at home: Valuables, weapons, food/beverages, laptops (unless in Professionals Program), revealing clothing, and any non-prescribed medications.
What is the difference between inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment?
Inpatient/residential treatment at The Ridge involves living on-site 24/7 in a structured, immersive environment.
