Typical Length: 5-10 Days
The first step for most clients, detox provides 24/7 medical supervision to manage withdrawal symptoms safely and comfortably. This crucial phase prepares clients to fully engage in the therapeutic aspects of residential treatment. The detox unit is co-ed.
Typical Stay: 30 Days
The core of the program, where clients live on-site in gender-specific housing (men on Hilton Head Island, women in Bluffton). This program offers a highly structured schedule of individual, group, and holistic therapies in a supportive, substance-free environment.
Environment & Accommodations
BriteLife Recovery provides a comfortable and structured environment designed to feel more like a large home than a clinical institution. With a total capacity of 40 beds (20 for men, 20 for women), the center maintains a community feel. The detox program is co-ed, while the residential living quarters are gender-specific to ensure client safety and comfort. The men's program is located at the main Hilton Head Island facility, and the women's program is at a separate residence in nearby Bluffton.
Clients live in comfortable, well-appointed residences, fostering a personal and supportive atmosphere conducive to healing.
Most clients share a room with one roommate, encouraging peer connection. Private rooms are available for an additional cost of $30,000 per month.
After the co-ed detox, clients move into separate residential facilities for men and women, with some groups remaining co-ed.
Policies & Rules
This is not a locked facility, and clients can leave against medical advice (AMA). However, they are not permitted to leave the property unsupervised.
Medication-Assisted Treatment with Suboxone is supported. Clients can be started on or continue their MAT protocol. Methadone is not used.
Smoking and vaping are permitted in designated outdoor areas during scheduled breaks throughout the day.
Personal cell phones are not allowed on your person to promote focus on recovery. Staff holds them, but access is granted for necessary tasks like paying bills.
Family involvement is facilitated through family therapy sessions. However, on-site family visitation is not permitted during the 30-day program.
Weapons, non-prescribed medications, drugs/alcohol, and revealing clothing are strictly prohibited to ensure a safe environment for all.

Pack light but practical. Bring comfortable clothing for about a week, workout clothes, and proper footwear. Personal hygiene items must be new, unopened, and alcohol-free. Also bring your ID, insurance card, and any current medications in their original prescription bottles.
Avoid anything that could interfere with treatment. This includes drugs, alcohol, weapons, non-prescribed medications, revealing clothing, outside food/drinks, and personal electronics like laptops. Valuables and large amounts of cash should also be left at home.
The campus is set up like a large home or residential building, featuring a pool, meeting areas, a dining room, group and counseling rooms, bedrooms, and bathrooms, all designed to create a comfortable, non-clinical atmosphere.
Inpatient/Residential treatment means you live at the facility 24/7 in a structured, supervised environment away from triggers. Outpatient lets you live at home while attending scheduled therapy. BriteLife is an inpatient facility offering Detox and Residential care; they do not offer outpatient programs.
