What should I bring with me?
When preparing for your stay at Mainspring Recovery, you are encouraged to bring a few essential and comfort items. Please bring a valid picture ID along with your insurance and/or prescription card. Pack comfortable, casual attire suitable for daily activities—laundry rooms and soap are available for your convenience. Be sure to include exercise clothing such as gym shorts, shirts, and sneakers, as well as weather-appropriate outerwear. You may bring unopened personal hygiene items like shampoo, soap, a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a shaving kit. All prescribed medications should be brought in their original bottles, along with a complete list of any over-the-counter medications, vitamins, herbal remedies, or supplements you currently take. The medical staff will review your medications and determine which are appropriate for use during your stay. Please also provide your prescription insurance information at admission; if your insurance does not cover medication costs, you will be responsible for the charges. Unopened smoking and tobacco products are permitted. You should also bring a method of payment, such as a credit card or cashier’s check, for any agreed-upon pre-admission fees, and up to $100 in cash or a credit/debit card for incidentals. Finally, you are welcome to bring a journal for writing and a few novels or nonfiction books; however, all reading materials will be reviewed for appropriateness during luggage checks.
What should I leave at home?
The following items are not permitted at Mainspring Recovery and should not be brought with you upon admission. Medications of any kind are prohibited unless they have been prescribed by your physician and approved by the staff. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers and unopened cigarette boxes are not allowed, nor are vapes of any kind. Razors are restricted to electric models only, as the facility provides single-blade razors for use. Mouthwash containing alcohol, safety pins, knives, perfumes, or any glass bottles are also prohibited. Recording devices—including cameras, tape recorders, cell phones, and laptops—are not allowed on the premises. Stuffed animals are not permitted, and clothing featuring explicit, gang-related, or drug-related logos is strictly forbidden. Please refer to the Client Handbook for detailed dress code guidelines. Additionally, clients are asked to limit their luggage to no more than two pieces.
What is the layout of the campus?
The campus feels like a renovated hotel building, with a centralized layout for easy access to clinical offices, group rooms, and residential wings.
Who provides care here? Are there psychiatrists on staff?

Who else will be in treatment with me?
You will be in treatment with other adults (18+) in a co-ed environment. Our facility serves a diverse population, including clients with Medicaid and those with private insurance. With a capacity of 71 beds, you'll be part of a sizable community of peers focused on recovery.
Are family visits allowed?
Mainspring Recovery welcomes visitors after clients complete their 14-day Acclimation Period. Visitation is held weekly on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Clients with last names beginning with A–L may receive visitors from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., while those with last names beginning with M–Z have visitation from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise directed by the Clinical Director. All visitor requests must be submitted through the client’s Primary Counselor—no other staff members may authorize visits. Clients should finalize their visitor list with their Primary Counselor no later than Thursday for that Sunday’s visitation. Each client may have up to two visitors at a time (not including children), unless additional visitors are approved by both the Primary Counselor and Clinical Director. Outside food and drinks, as well as pets, are strictly prohibited anywhere on the premises. Visitors are not allowed to bring bags unless they contain approved items for a client, and no items may be passed directly between visitors and clients. All belongings brought for clients will be thoroughly inspected and approved by staff prior to delivery.

What types of support and aftercare are available once treatment ends?
We offer robust aftercare planning, including step-down options to our PHP and Low-Intensity programs. Our Alumni Program also provides a range of services and activities tailored to support ongoing recovery and connection to the community.
What is the difference between inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment?
Inpatient addiction treatment (like our residential program) provides 24/7, structured care at a residential facility, offering intensive therapy, medical supervision, and a controlled environment to support recovery. Outpatient treatment allows individuals to live at home while attending scheduled therapy sessions, counseling, or group programs, making it more flexible but requiring strong personal discipline.

A typical residential stay is about 30 days, although the final duration depends on each client's specific clinical needs and treatment plan.
