Instead of a clinical facility, treatment and housing are provided in gender-specific houses, fostering a strong sense of community and peer support. Accommodations consist of shared rooms, which encourages accountability and helps prevent isolation. While the program is co-ed, this separation of living quarters ensures client comfort and safety, creating a focused environment for healing.

Policies & Rules
This is not a locked facility, but clients are required to remain on the property and adhere to house rules, schedules, and curfews to ensure a safe and structured environment.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including Suboxone and other medications, is supported and integrated into the treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
Cigarette smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas during specified break times. Vapes, e-cigarettes, and other tobacco products are prohibited.
Personal electronics are not allowed during the residential phase. Clients in PHP/IOP may use devices with certain rules and restrictions in place.
To maintain focus on early recovery, on-site family visits are not permitted. Family involvement occurs through scheduled therapy sessions.
Strict rules prohibit outside food/drinks, non-prescribed medications, weapons, vapes, and inappropriate clothing. All luggage is searched upon admission.

Yes, there is a strong emphasis on the 12-Steps, meetings, and spirituality. Participation in 12-Step groups is a required component of the housing program. We also incorporate SMART Recovery and other faith-based approaches.
While not exclusively a faith-based or Christian program, it incorporates spiritual principles through its required 12-Step model. Clients who are strictly atheist or unwilling to explore concepts of spirituality may find it challenging.

Yes, our primary payer source at this location is New Hampshire Medicaid. We do not accept commercial insurance or self-pay clients at The Granite House; those individuals are referred to our sister facility, Green Mountain Treatment Center.
Detox services are not available at The Granite House. However, we coordinate closely with our other locations, like Green Mountain Treatment Center, to ensure clients can complete detox before admission into our residential program.
Yes, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is a service we offer and integrate into client treatment plans when clinically appropriate.

Leave all alcohol, drugs, vapes/e-cigarettes, weapons, pornography, and outside food/drinks at home. Also prohibited are electronics (cell phones, laptops), excessive jewelry, revealing clothing or clothes with inappropriate logos, and any toiletries containing alcohol.

Care is provided by a dedicated team of nurses and master's level/licensed clinicians. While we do not have psychiatrists or psychologists on staff, we work closely with outside providers to coordinate psychiatric care as needed.
The program is for co-ed adults (18+) from various backgrounds who are covered by New Hampshire Medicaid. You will be part of a community of peers all working toward recovery. While the overall program is co-ed, housing is gender-specific.
Family involvement is an important part of recovery and is facilitated through family therapy sessions. However, to maintain a focused and safe environment for early recovery, on-site family visitation is not permitted.
We offer a strong aftercare plan, including step-down levels of care like PHP and IOP, sober living homes, and a robust Alumni Program to provide ongoing support and community after treatment completion.
