Frequently Asked Questions

Cost & Admission

What will my costs be for treatment?

At LifeHouse, we ensure that everyone can receive the care they need, and we do not turn anyone away because of their inability to pay. Most clients use Medicaid or state funding. If you have commercial insurance, you would just have to pay the deductible. Our Sliding Fee Discount Program provides help based on income guidelines so that all patients can access our services.

Do you accept insurance for substance use disorder treatment?

Yes, LifeHouse accepts Medicaid, most major commercial insurance plans, and offers state funding for most uninsured individuals.

What time should I arrive for my admission?

Please arrive by 11:00 a.m. or earlier to start the intake process.

What if I’m going to be late for my admission?

If you anticipate arriving after 12:00 p.m., you must inform us in advance. Failure to do so may result in the denial of your admission, requiring you to reschedule.

How should I prepare for admission regarding substance use?

You must be clean and sober for at least 72 hours before admission. Failure to pass the admission urinalysis and breathalyzer tests may result in withheld admission or transfer to our detox program.

What documentation is needed upon admission?

Please bring your driver’s license or photo ID, Social Security card, and insurance cards. Ensure you’ve sent us your insurance information in advance. We can also assist with applying for state assistance if you’re uninsured.

What should I do about legal and medical matters before admission?

Please ensure all medical and legal matters are resolved before your admission date to allow you to focus fully on your recovery.

What should I bring with me regarding medications?

Bring a 30-day supply of your currently prescribed medications (no controlled substances). They must be in their original, properly labeled bottles. Ensure they have available refills to avoid any complications during your stay.

Are there any medications I cannot bring or use during treatment?

Yes, controlled substances and medications with high potential for abuse such as Xanax and Vicodin are not permitted. While Suboxone is used in our MAT program, outside prescriptions are not allowed. Please consult with your doctor about safely discontinuing these medications before starting treatment.

Daily Life & Rules

What is the living situation like? Can I get my own room?

Residential and sober living clients live in comfortable, gender-specific houses. Rooms and bathrooms are shared with roommates to encourage peer support and community. Private rooms are not available.

Is this a closed/locked facility?

It is not a lockdown facility, but it is a structured program. Clients have freedom on the property but cannot leave without being discharged. The detox unit is a more secure clinical environment for safety, while residential and sober living are more home-like.

What is the layout of the campus?

The campus settings are tailored to the level of care. Detox takes place in a clinical facility, residential and sober living programs are in separate houses, and outpatient services are conducted in an office setting.

Can I use my phone or laptop? Is there WiFi?

No, personal electronic or entertainment devices such as cell phones, music players, cameras, laptops, or tablets are not permitted. This policy helps clients focus completely on their recovery.

What are the phone call and visitor policies?

You are allowed one five-minute phone call upon admission to notify loved ones of your safe arrival. Afterward, you may make two 15-minute phone calls per week. Visitors are permitted twice, pending clinical staff approval. Please see the "Family Involvement" question for detailed visitor rules.

Is smoking/vaping allowed?

Yes, but in compliance with federal law, smoking within our facility is restricted to those OVER 21 YEARS OLD. You may bring a 30-day supply of unopened, regular cigarettes. E-cigarettes, vapor cigarettes, chewing tobacco, and cigarettes with chemical additives (like Marlboro NXT or Camel Crush) are prohibited.

What are my responsibilities as a resident?

As a LifeHouse resident, you are expected to follow all program rules and actively participate in all scheduled groups and activities as part of your commitment to recovery.

What should I bring to treatment?

Bring: Enough clothing for 7 days (label all items), appropriate attire (no shorts above the knee, tank tops, or revealing outfits), one padlock, ID/Social Security card, a 30-day supply of approved medications, unopened hygiene products (alcohol-free mouthwash), shower shoes, personal religious materials, stamps, envelopes, and cash for the on-site store.

What should I NOT bring to treatment?

Leave at home: Valuables (expensive jewelry, etc.), electronics (phones, laptops), weapons, vehicles, contraband/illegal drugs, outside food/drinks, checkbooks/credit cards, revealing or gang/drug-related clothing, e-cigarettes/vapes, chewing tobacco, and any prohibited medications.
