Daily Life & Rules

How long will I be there?

A typical stay is approximately 35 days, which covers our full continuum of on-site care: detox (5 days), residential (15 days), and PHP (20 days). Length of stay can be adjusted based on individual clinical needs.

What is the living situation like? Can I get my own room?

The living situation is a rustic, cabin-style setting. All rooms are shared with roommates to foster peer support and community. Private rooms are not available.

Is this a closed/locked facility?

It is not a locked facility. However, it operates with strict rules for safety and focus. Clients are not permitted to leave the property, and doing so will result in an administrative discharge. There is a 10:30 pm curfew.

Can I use my phone/laptop? Is smoking allowed?

Smoking and vaping are permitted in designated outdoor areas. Personal electronics like phones and laptops are not allowed; they are locked away securely. Clients are given access to a landline phone for family calls after an initial 14-day blackout period.

What should I bring? What should I leave at home?

Bring: Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, non-alcoholic toiletries, prescription medications in their original bottles, ID/insurance card, and a list of important phone numbers.
Leave at home: Valuables, electronics, weapons, drugs/alcohol, revealing clothing, and outside food or drinks.

Who provides care here? Are there psychiatrists on staff?

Care is provided by a dedicated clinical and medical team. The on-site medical staff is composed primarily of nurses and a Nurse Practitioner, with a Medical Doctor available via telehealth. The therapy team includes licensed counselors and therapists.

Who will be in treatment with me?

The program is co-ed for adults (18+) who have private insurance or are self-paying. With a capacity of 67 residents, you will be part of a diverse community of peers, all focused on recovery. Housing is gender-specific.

What is the family involvement and visitation policy?

In-person family visits are not permitted. We encourage family involvement through weekly Zoom meetings on Saturdays and phone calls on the facility landline, which are allowed after an initial 14-day communication blackout period.

What kind of aftercare and follow-up support is available?

We offer robust aftercare support, including an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in North Charleston, Continuing Care/Recovery Management, active Alumni Services, and access to the CaredFor App to maintain connection and support post-treatment.
