What is the living situation like? Can I get my own room?
Clients live in large, fully-furnished homes in a suburban neighborhood. The environment is home-like and community-oriented. All rooms are shared with roommates; private rooms are not available, as the shared living arrangement is part of the therapeutic model.
Is this a closed/locked facility?
No, it is an open campus. The residential homes and clinical buildings are not locked, fostering an environment based on trust and personal responsibility.
Can I use my phone/laptop? Is smoking allowed?
Yes, smoking and vaping are permitted in designated outdoor areas. A key feature of the program is that clients are allowed to bring and use their personal electronic devices, including cell phones and laptops.
What should I bring? What should I leave at home?
Bring: About a week's worth of comfortable clothing, essential toiletries (non-alcohol based), prescription medications in original bottles, ID and insurance cards, and any personal electronics you wish to use.
Leave at home: Any products containing alcohol (mouthwash, cologne), weapons, illicit substances, and revealing or inappropriate clothing.
Who provides care here? Are there psychiatrists on staff?
Care is provided by a multidisciplinary team. Therapy is conducted by Master's-level counselors. Medication management is handled by a psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) who is supervised by a Medical Doctor (MD).
Who will be in treatment with me?
The program is co-ed for adults (18+) from the general population with private insurance. You will be in a community with men and women from diverse backgrounds. While clinical groups are often mixed-gender, the residential housing is gender-specific. Each house has a capacity of 12-15 clients.
What is the family involvement and visitation policy?
Family involvement is a key part of the program through family therapy sessions, educational workshops, and support groups. In-person visitation is not permitted during the detox phase but is allowed and encouraged for clients in the PHP and IOP levels of care.
