While reviews are overwhelmingly positive, the few critical comments mention issues related to administrative disorganization, perceived inconsistency in rule enforcement, and some negative interactions with specific staff members. A couple of reviews also suggest a need for more robust aftercare planning and support upon discharge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Program & Treatment

Why choose us? What makes it different than other addiction treatment centers?

We are a "family-owned and operated" facility offering "truly individualized care." Our intimate, 16-bed capacity ensures a high staff-to-client ratio. We are accredited by The Joint Commission and employ staff who are also in recovery, providing a unique level of empathy and understanding.

What substance use disorder treatment programs do you offer?

We offer a full continuum of care including Medical Detox, Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and Aftercare & Relapse Prevention programs.

How do you treat dual diagnosis? Do you treat co-occurring mental disorders?

Yes, we treat co-occurring disorders. Our integrated approach is designed to "alleviate mental health disorders" alongside substance use issues. We also offer a dedicated Mental Health PHP.

What types of therapies do you use in your addiction treatment programs?

Our treatment is centered on "evidence-based care," which includes individual counseling, group therapy, and family involvement. The specific therapeutic modalities are tailored to each client's individual needs.

Does this program use the 12-steps, or not use the 12-steps? Smart recovery? Celebrate recovery?

While our core program is clinical and evidence-based, we believe in a well-rounded approach. Clients are introduced to 12-Step concepts, and we provide transportation to a variety of outside support meetings, including AA, NA, CA, SMART Recovery, and Celebrate Recovery. Participation is encouraged but not mandatory.

Is the program faith-based?

No, our program is not faith-based. It is a clinical program open to individuals of all beliefs and backgrounds. We do, however, support clients who wish to explore spirituality as part of their recovery and can transport them to meetings like Celebrate Recovery.

How long has this facility been open?

Mississippi Drug & Alcohol Treatment Center was founded and began serving the community in 2017.

Cost & Admission

What will my costs be for treatment?

Costs vary based on the level of care. Self-pay estimates are: Detox and Residential together cost $25,500 for the first 30 days. After that, residential care is $9,000 every two weeks. A 10-week outpatient (PHP/IOP) program costs approximately $6,500. Please call for an exact quote based on your needs.

Do you accept insurance for substance use disorder treatment?

Yes. We are a private facility and work with most PPO/POS insurance plans as an out-of-network provider. We are proud partners with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, Humana, TRICARE, and the VA. We do not accept Medicaid.

Do you provide detoxification services?

Yes, we offer a full Medical Detox program with 24/7 nursing and medical supervision to ensure a safe and comfortable start to your recovery journey.

Is Suboxone (MAT) permitted?

Our program is abstinence-based. We will use Suboxone for detoxification purposes to manage withdrawal, but clients are then tapered off. We do not support long-term Medication-Assisted Treatment maintenance, and we do not use methadone at all.

Daily Life, Rules & Family

How long will I be there? What is the length of a residential stay?

The typical length of stay in our residential program is 30 to 45 days, depending on individual clinical needs and progress. Outpatient programs typically last around 10 weeks.

What is the living situation like? Can I get my own room?

The living situation is comfortable and home-like in a former assisted living facility. Most rooms are semi-private, meaning you will have a roommate. If a private room is available and you wish to have one, it can be arranged for an additional cost.

Is this a closed/locked facility?

No, this is a voluntary program, not a locked facility. You can leave at any time. The 5-acre property is fenced in, and clients are expected to remain on-site unless with staff for approved outings like support meetings.

Can I use my phone or laptop? Is smoking allowed?

Yes to both. Smoking and vaping are permitted in designated outdoor areas. We also allow clients to bring and use their personal cell phones and laptops, which is a unique policy designed to help you stay connected to your support network.

What should I bring with me?

When packing for our facility, it's best to focus on comfort and essentials. You should bring about a week's worth of comfortable, casual clothing. Pack essential toiletries, but make sure they are new, unopened, and alcohol-free. It is also crucial to bring your ID, insurance card, a list of important contacts, and any prescription medications in their original bottles. For personal time, consider bringing a journal, photos, and reading material. Since we allow personal electronics, you should also remember to pack your laptop, mobile phone, and their necessary chargers.

What should I leave at home?

To ensure a safe and focused treatment environment, please leave the following at home: any drugs, alcohol, or unapproved medications; valuables such as expensive jewelry or large sums of cash; any items that could be considered a weapon; outside food or drinks; and any clothing with logos related to drugs, alcohol, or with offensive messaging.

Who provides care here? Are there psychiatrists on staff?

Care is provided by a team of "leading medical professionals and Masters level clinicians." You will see a doctor via telehealth for your initial assessment and medication management, and our on-site nurses and counselors will provide your day-to-day care and support. Many of our techs and counselors are also in active recovery, offering a unique layer of peer support.

Who else will be in treatment with me? What is the occupancy?

Our program is co-ed for adults (18+). With a small total capacity of only 16 beds, you will be part of an intimate, close-knit community of peers from various backgrounds, all working toward recovery. Most of our clients use private insurance to cover their stay.

What is the family involvement and visitation policy?

Family involvement is a crucial part of recovery. We offer family education and therapy. On-site family visitation is permitted on Sundays for pre-approved family members, who must also attend the family education group to participate.

What kind of aftercare and follow-up support is available?

We provide robust discharge planning and a full continuum of care for aftercare. Clients can step down to our Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs. We also have an "Aftercare & Relapse Prevention" program to ensure ongoing support after treatment completion. We do not offer sober living housing.

What is the difference between inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment?

Inpatient treatment requires patients to live at the facility 24/7, providing a highly structured and immersive environment free from outside triggers. It's ideal for those with severe addiction or co-occurring disorders. Outpatient treatment allows individuals to live at home while attending scheduled therapy sessions, offering more flexibility to maintain work or family life. It's suited for those with less severe addiction or as a step-down from inpatient care.
