Overview
Advanced Rapid Detox offers a revolutionary 4-day rapid opiate and alcohol detox in a secure, private hospital setting in Farmington Hills, Michigan. This one-on-one medical procedure is led by Dr. Julia Aharonov, a board-certified anesthesiologist, ensuring the highest level of safety and care. Patients are placed under safe IV sedation, allowing them to sleep comfortably through withdrawal while receiving 24/7 medical monitoring in a private room with a private bath. This method safely reverses opiates like Fentanyl and Suboxone from the brain's receptors. Following the procedure, patients begin Naltrexone or Vivitrol® therapy to block cravings and support long-term sobriety. As a private, self-pay facility, Advanced Rapid Detox provides a discreet and humane start to a life free from dependency. Visit their website here.

Negative feedback is very rare. The primary concern mentioned is the high out-of-pocket cost, as the facility is self-pay. A few reviews note that while the acute withdrawal is painless, there is still a necessary recovery period at home involving some weakness and post-acute symptoms, which is to be expected but can be challenging.

Frequently Asked Questions
Program & Treatment
How does the procedure work and how can I get Vivitrol® so quickly?
Dr. Aharonov uses IV Sedation (not general anesthesia with intubation) so you can safely sleep through withdrawals. Our medical team, led by a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist, performs the opiate reversal, supplemented with hydration and vitamins. Afterwards, you recover in a private room with 24/7 care. Because the procedure fully reverses opiates from the receptors, we can immediately administer an FDA-approved Naltrexone tablet or Vivitrol® injection to eliminate cravings, avoiding the typical 7-14 day wait.
If I got the Vivitrol® injection, how do I get repeat shots?
It's simple. You can visit Vivitrol.com and use their provider locator by entering your zip code to find a list of local providers who can administer the monthly shot. The Vivitrol® injection is covered by most health insurance policies and is often free under Medicaid/State Insurance. If you prefer, you can opt for the daily oral Naltrexone tablets instead.
Why choose us? What makes it different than other addiction treatment centers?
The key difference is the physician-led procedure using IV sedation, not general anesthesia, making it safer. Patients sleep through withdrawals in a hospital ICU setting over 4 days. Treatment is led by a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist, and post-detox care includes Vivitrol® or Naltrexone to immediately block cravings, unlike the typical 7-14 day wait. We also offer to match rates of comparable centers to ensure patient safety.
What substance use disorder treatment programs do you offer?
We offer one highly specialized program: a 4-day rapid medical detox under IV sedation for opiate and alcohol addiction. This includes treatment for substances like Fentanyl, Heroin, Suboxone®, Methadone, and Oxycodone.
What types of therapies do you use in your addiction treatment programs?
Our focus is medical, not therapeutic. The primary treatment is the detox procedure itself. We do offer an optional IV Ketamine infusion for an additional fee to address unresolved pain, depression, and PTSD after the detox is complete.
Do you treat co-occurring mental disorders / dual diagnosis?
No, our program is designed exclusively for the physical detoxification from opiates and alcohol. We do not provide treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders.
After I'm done with the procedure, will I still have withdrawals?
Patients experience the majority of withdrawal symptoms while comfortably under sedation. Any post-acute withdrawal symptoms (like restless legs or chills) are managed with non-addictive medications, which we can prescribe for you to take home. Our long-term aftercare program helps manage this recovery phase.
Do you put me on Suboxone or Methadone after the procedure?
No. Suboxone and Methadone are opiates, and our goal is to help you become completely free from all opiates. We use non-addictive opiate blockers like Naltrexone and Vivitrol®.
Cost & Admission
What will my costs be for treatment?
The all-inclusive cost for our 4-day Advanced Detox Package is $12,000. Optional add-on treatments, including Vivitrol and IV Ketamine therapy, are available for an additional fee to further support your recovery. We are also committed to providing the best value and will match the rate of any comparable rapid detox center.
Is the Advanced Rapid Detox procedure covered by my insurance?
We are a self-pay facility. However, many insurance carriers may reimburse some or all of the cost. We provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement, but we do not handle the claims process directly.
Is Financing Available?
Yes, financing options are available for qualified patients. You can apply directly through a link on our website.
This seems too good to be true?
The procedure is highly effective but requires careful screening. We conduct an extensive pre-screening process, including a review of medical history and a stress test for patients over 40, to ensure candidates are suitable. For qualified patients, it is a life-saving procedure.
Daily Life, Rules & Family
How long will I be there?
The entire inpatient medical stay is for 4 days.
What is the living situation like? Can I get my own room?
The setting is a private hospital room. Every patient is guaranteed their own private room with a private bathroom and shower, flat-screen TV, and WiFi.
Is this a closed/locked facility?
Yes, for the safety and success of the 4-day medical procedure, patients remain within the secure medical facility for the entire duration of their stay.
Can I use my phone/laptop? Is smoking allowed?
Yes, personal cell phones and laptops are allowed, and WiFi is provided. However, smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited in and around the facility. We recommend using a nicotine patch.
What should I bring? What should I leave at home?
Bring: Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing (pajamas, sweatpants), personal toiletries, any current non-opiate medications in original bottles, ID, and payment method.
Leave at home: Valuables, large amounts of cash, weapons, drugs/alcohol, and anything not essential for a 4-day medical stay.
Who provides care here? Are there psychiatrists on staff?
Care is provided by an expert medical team of over 30 professionals, led by Dr. Julia Aharonov, a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist & Addiction Medicine Physician. The team includes Registered Nurses and other trained medical personnel. There are no psychiatrists or psychologists on staff.
Who will be in treatment with me?
The program is for co-ed adults (18+) from all backgrounds. As this is a private pay facility and all patients have private rooms, you will interact minimally with other patients. The focus is on your individual medical care. Occupancy is not listed.
What is the family involvement and visitation policy?
Due to the short, intensive medical nature of the stay, on-site family visitation is not included. However, family members can communicate with the medical team, and the doctor's contact information is provided for updates and questions.
What kind of aftercare and follow-up support is available?
We provide a long-term, detox-related aftercare program. Upon discharge, you will receive a prescription for Naltrexone tablets or a list of local providers for the monthly Vivitrol® injection. Our team remains a resource for patients and their families post-treatment.
